Many benefits of telemedicine for the management of acute ischemic stroke (telestroke) are well described. These include improved accuracy in stroke diagnosis and time-based stroke metrics such as door to needle time, increased thrombolysis rates, and improved timely access to stroke experts.1 Even though telestroke programs are associated with high upfront costs, multiple studies have suggested long-term cost savings.1,2
