Innovative home activity monitoring in non-ambulant patients with spinal muscular atrophy: a multicenter observational trial

Assessment of non-ambulant patients with spinal muscular atrophy is challenging due to the slow and highly variable disease progression. In order to assess drug efficacy in therapeutic trials in this population, developing reliable and sensitive outcome measures focusing on the upper limb is critical. ActiMyo® is a novel device designed to monitor upper and lower limb activity in home environment. The device consists of two “watch like” sensors, one placed on the wrist and the other placed either on the ankle or the wheelchair if the subject is non-ambulant.
