Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a medical condition in which patients experience physical neurological symptoms, but traditional medical testing can’t find a structural or biochemical cause. These symptoms can vary widely and may include motor dysfunction (like tremors, gait problems, or weakness), sensory issues, and episodes resembling seizures. The disorder appears to be linked to how the brain “functions” or operates, rather than damage to the brain’s structure, hence the name “Functional Neurological Disorder”. Despite its complexity, many patients with FND can improve or recover with appropriate treatment.
