Outcome measures in neuromuscular disorders are constantly being reviewed and updated to ensure accurate and relevant clinically meaningful information is being collected. The data collected allows detailed, appropriate clinical input, plus analysis of disease progression. The performance of upper limb (PUL) scale has been developed and established for the use in ambulant and non-ambulant DMD patients. It is currently the most commonly used outcome measure that captures upper limb function in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
