Cardiomyopathy in DMD is characterized by progressive left ventricle dysfunction (LVD). LVD is worsened by increased LV afterload. This afterload is influenced by systolic blood pressure (SBP) and obesity. In DMD, body mass index (BMI) increases with steroid use and loss of mobility but can decrease during puberty. We studied these parameters in DMD patients aged 4–18 years. In a subset of young patients, we studied their relation with LV deformation. Data between 2003 and 2016 were evaluated retrospectively from 273 visits of 65 patients, divided in 14 age groups.
