The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in inherited myopathies is unknown. We identified 2,810 patients (mean age = 40.1 ± 15.4 years, women = 45,0%) referred to our institutions between January 2000 and December 2014 for the management of the 10 following genetically proven myopathies: myotonic dystrophy (DM), FSH myopathy, dystrophinopathies, mitochondrial diseases, glycogen and lipid-storage diseases, LGMD, nucleopathies, collagen VI-related disorders, myofibrillar, and congenital myopathies.
