  • Network co-activation relates to executive function following pediatric traumatic brain injury
CONCLUSIONS: Findings illustrate the implications of disrupted downregulation of the default mode network by the SN following pediatric brain injury. They also demonstrate how disruption in functional connectivity may underlie poor executive function after childhood traumatic brain injury.
  • Beyond the Concussion: Cerebral Venous Thrombosis Following Mild-to-Moderate Traumatic Brain Injury
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) accounts for a small proportion of strokes. Still, it carries meaningful clinical impact, classically linked to systemic prothrombotic conditions, hormonal influences, and severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). However, with advances in neuroimaging, it's now evident that trauma-related CVST (tCVST) can also complicate mild to moderate head injuries even in the […]
  • Quality of Life, Self-Reported Cognitive Difficulties, and Performance-Based Cognitive Problems in Multiple Sclerosis: What's Sleep Got to Do With It?
CONCLUSIONS: Poor sleep quality was not associated with performance-based cognitive functioning but was associated with greater self-reported cognitive difficulties. After accounting for disease progression, depression, and fatigue, poor sleep quality was significantly predictive of both Symptoms and Fatigue QoL.
  • Monitoring the lateral ventricles in the presence of intracranial hemorrhage using automated dual segmentation
CONCLUSIONS: Automated dual segmentation of lateral ventricles and ICH using deep learning provides a reliable method to monitor TBI severity over time. The approach yielded clinically relevant information, including ICH and lateral ventricle volume changes across sessions. This approach offers an efficient analysis of CT images in ICH and particularly patients that develop IVH.
  • Parent and Child Agreement of Brain Injury Perceptions Following Pediatric Concussion
CONCLUSIONS: Parent-child agreement regarding brain injury perceptions following a pediatric concussion was low (13%), reflecting the importance of assessing and then addressing parent and child perceptions individually in pediatric concussion management.
