  • Timing of neurorehabilitation and subsequent Alzheimer's disease risk in patients with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury: A nationwide retrospective cohort study in the United States
BackgroundTraumatic brain injury (TBI) is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). It is unknown if prompt neuro-rehabilitative treatment following moderate or severe TBI mitigates this risk compared with delayed treatment.ObjectiveTo determine whether immediate neuro-rehabilitative treatment following moderate or severe TBI reduces the risk of AD and related cognitive outcomes compared with delayed […]
  • War-related traumatic brain injury in Gaza: a multi-center prospective analysis of patterns and outcomes
CONCLUSION: In this cohort of war-related TBI patients in Gaza, mortality was significantly linked to admission GCS, age, brain matter extrusion, IVH, and SDH. The study highlights how resource-limited, conflict-driven healthcare disruptions impact TBI outcomes and emphasizes the need to strengthen neurosurgical capacity, emergency response systems, and rehabilitation efforts in such environments.
  • Radiofrequency lesioning for hemidystonia: a systematic review and meta-analysis with individual patient data
Background Radiofrequency lesioning (RL) had been a mainstay in functional neurosurgery for dystonic movement disorders before the widespread adoption of deep brain stimulation (DBS). Outcomes of RL in hemidystonia have varied. This review provides a systematic analysis of RL for hemidystonia and evaluates the spectrum of clinical outcome. Methods A systematic literature review was performed […]
  • The network-based underpinnings of persisting symptoms after concussion: a multimodal neuroimaging meta-analysis
Persisting symptoms after concussion (PSaC) represent a complex and poorly understood neuropsychiatric phenomenon with limited treatment options. Neural network dysfunction has been associated with PSaC, and neuromodulation, particularly repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, may be a promising intervention. However, neuroimaging findings have been inconsistent, limiting understanding of underlying network dysfunction. We aimed to identify a core […]
  • Outcomes of Spinal Manipulation and Neurological Rehabilitation for a Patient With Chronic Tension-Type Headaches and a Prior History of Head Trauma
Chronic tension-type headaches (TTH) can be a debilitating condition that may include peripheral vestibular system involvement. This case report describes the response to spinal manipulation (SM) and neurologic rehabilitation for a 44-year-old male with TTH complicated by a history of concussion. The patient presented to a chiropractic teaching clinic with over 15 years of daily […]
