Research

  • Building emotional self-awareness teletherapy in civilians and service members with mild traumatic brain injury
CONCLUSIONS: Findings support the preliminary efficacy of BEST at improving psychological health in civilian and military participants with mild TBI who have elevated alexithymia and emotion dysregulation. However, larger trials with more rigorous designs are necessary to determine the true impact of BEST.
  • Neurobehavioral disorders: efficacy of post-hospital specialty programs
CONCLUSION: Each group demonstrated reduced disability from admission to discharge, replicating prior research. This research provided evidence that post-hospital care provides behavioral improvement to neurologically impaired individuals.
  • Traumatic brain injury outcomes and mortality predictors in Eastern India: An observational study
CONCLUSIONS: Traumatic brain injury in Eastern India predominantly affects young males in road traffic accidents. While functional recovery appeared to improve between discharge and 6 months, severe injuries and specific radiological features may be associated with increased mortality. Burr-hole surgery and craniotomy may be linked to more favourable outcomes compared with craniectomy. Strengthening trauma systems […]
  • Epidemiology of injuries at the first transplant football world cup
CONCLUSIONS: Despite a moderate incidence of injury, the majority were minor and no transplant-related injuries were recorded. These findings support the safety and feasibility of recreational football in transplant recipients, reinforcing its role as a beneficial component of long-term health promotion.
  • Self-reported concussion prevalence, post-injury help-seeking behaviour, and associated risk factors among volleyball players
CONCLUSIONS: SRC occur in volleyball with a lifetime prevalence of 35%, yet many incidents go undiagnosed and unmanaged. Older, more experienced players had greater odds of reporting a SRC, while professional-level athletes showed reduced odds when all factors are considered. Increased awareness and appropriate guidance are needed across all levels in volleyball.
