  • Leveraging the Enhanced Sports as a Laboratory Assessment Model to Cross-Validate a Formula Used to Predict Clinical Recovery From Concussion in Collegiate Athletes
CONCLUSIONS: Upon cross-validation, our prognostic formula had limited sensitivity and specificity when predicting clinical recovery after concussion. This formula may be used, with caution, when accompanied by a multidimensional assessment to inform clinical decision making after concussion.

This case report describes the clinical response and safety of intranasal esketamine (Spravato®) in a 61-year-old female with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), a history of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) poor response, and structural brain abnormalities secondary to left frontal lobe tissue loss from traumatic brain injury in 2008. Despite multiple antidepressant trials, atypical antipsychotic augmentation, and 6 […]
  • Hyperphosphorylated tau and amyloid-beta proteinopathy in people over age 50: Findings from the Lieber Institute for Brain Development Brain Donation Repository
BackgroundThe Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) has one of the largest postmortem human brain banks for the study of neuropsychiatric disorders in the world. The postmortem evaluation involves neuropathological assessment for age-related protein accumulations, specifically phosphorylated tau (p-tau) and amyloid-β (Aβ).ObjectivePresent the LIBD semiquantitative assessment methodology for p-tau and Aβ by comparing proteinopathy by […]
  • Ocular Motor Control and Cognitive Function in Military Veterans With Chronic Mild Traumatic Brain Injury
CONCLUSIONS: Results support the conclusion that OMC and cognitive performance are persistent co-occurring problems in Veterans with chronic mTBI. Notably, these deficits can be detected even after as few as 2 mTBIs that occurred 11 years earlier, indicating that an OMC-cognition axis of sequelae may exist in the chronic stage of mTBI. The results also […]
