  • Association of arthritis and total joint arthroplasty with self-reported function in former professional American-style football players
CONCLUSION: More than half of former ASF players reported arthritis or knee or hip TJA. Higher pain interference and reduced physical function in former ASF players with arthritis and knee or hip TJA highlight the importance of advancing strategies to prevent and treat joint conditions.
  • The Evolving Role of Neuroimaging in Traumatic Brain Injury Research
Neuroimaging technologies such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have been widely adopted in the clinical diagnosis and management of traumatic brain injury (TBI), particularly at the more acute and severe levels of injury. Additionally, a number of advanced applications of MRI have been employed in TBI-related clinical research with great promise, and […]
  • Monitoring Adolescent Sport-Related Concussion Recovery Using Consumer-Grade Wearables: A Pilot Study
CONCLUSIONS: CGWDs may capture recovery-specific physiological disruptions in adolescent SRC, particularly in sleep and physical activity. These findings support the potential for wearable technology to inform individualized, objective approaches to concussion monitoring in clinical practice.
  • FastSurfer parcellation accuracy after lesion filling in moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury
OBJECTIVE: Focal lesions in T1-weighted (T1-w) magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of patients with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (ms-TBI) can introduce errors during image processing. We tested whether errors in FastSurfer cortical parcellation could be reduced using lesion filling (virtual brain grafting (VBG)).
  • Clinical Manifestations
CONCLUSION: In RHI settings, SCCs might be more frequent and reflect cognitive function. High SCC rates are likely multifactorial, with influence from neuropsychiatric factors. Future research should examine longitudinal change in self/informant SCCs and correlation with disease biomarkers.
