  • Effects of interval exercise and diurnal variation on blood biomarkers for sport-related concussion: A crossover cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: These preliminary findings highlight potential considerations for future sport-related concussion biomarker investigations collecting acute post-injury data in a sports context, as exercise may have immediate transient effects, and diurnal variations may affect plasma concentrations. Future research is needed to examine blood biomarkers affected by exercise and sport-related concussion in populations with consideration for concussion […]
  • The Predictive Value of Heart Rate Variability for the Prognosis of Patients with Mild to Moderate Traumatic Brain Injury
CONCLUSION: HRV can be used as an independent predictor of unfavorable prognosis in patients with TBI. Including the SDNN index in prognostic models helps to effectively predict the prognosis of adult patients with TBI.

  • Comparative analysis of plasma and salivary S100B as predictors of traumatic brain injury severity according to GCS and MAIS/head
CONCLUSIONS: Plasma and salivary S100B levels effectively discriminate mild from severe TBI, complementing current clinical severity scales. Their use may support rapid decision-making in emergency departments, especially given the simplicity, non-invasiveness, and feasibility of salivary sampling. These findings support integrating S100B measurement into TBI management protocols to enhance clinical accuracy and patient outcomes.
