  • Substrate-selective COX-2 inhibition by IMMA attenuates posttraumatic headache via endocannabinoid modulation and neuroinflammatory suppression
CONCLUSION: IMMA effectively attenuates neuroinflammation and pain hypersensitivity in the acute phase of PTH through a distinct mechanism that preserves endocannabinoid tone without suppressing physiological prostaglandins. While these results highlight its promise as a novel therapeutic strategy, further studies are warranted to determine its efficacy during the chronic phase of PTH and across anatomically targeted […]
  • A cognitive energy crisis: A systematic review & meta-analysis of effective interventions for pediatric cognitive fatigue post-acquired brain injury
Acquired Brain Injuries (ABIs) cause long-term disruption to young individuals' development. Persistent cognitive fatigue is a commonly reported sequela following pediatric ABI. Currently, there are no evidence-based interventions targeting cognitive fatigue post-ABI amongst pediatric patients. The current systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to review research on the efficacy of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for cognitive […]
  • Investigating the Role of Gut-Derived Neurotoxin TMAO in PTSD Risk Following Traumatic Brain Injury
CONCLUSION: Serum TMAO levels were significantly elevated in PTSD patients comorbid with TBI and were closely associated with PTSD severity. Furthermore, TMAO may aid in the early identification of high-risk, severe PTSD patients following TBI, thus helping to optimize intervention strategies.
  • ENIGMA's advanced guide for parcellation error identification (EAGLE-I): An implementation in the context of brain lesions
Cortical parcellation is a critical step in several neuroimaging pipelines, yet even in high quality images without pathology, errors are common. For patients with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (ms-TBI), typical parcellation errors can be exacerbated by focal pathology impacting cortical regions. Careful visual quality checking (QC) of parcellation images of ms-TBI patients should […]
  • Knowledge and attitudes of concussion and chronic traumatic encephalopathy amongst a sample of non-professional rugby players
CONCLUSIONS: Non-professional rugby players are generally knowledgeable about concussion. However, some gaps in their knowledge relating to coma and the course of symptoms of concussion were identified. Unsafe attitudes, particularly among school players, need to be addressed. Non-professional rugby players are interested in further education about CTE.
