  • Substrate-selective COX-2 inhibition by IMMA attenuates posttraumatic headache via endocannabinoid modulation and neuroinflammatory suppression
CONCLUSION: IMMA effectively attenuates neuroinflammation and pain hypersensitivity in the acute phase of PTH through a distinct mechanism that preserves endocannabinoid tone without suppressing physiological prostaglandins. While these results highlight its promise as a novel therapeutic strategy, further studies are warranted to determine its efficacy during the chronic phase of PTH and across anatomically targeted […]
  • Intensive exposure therapy for individuals with persistent concussion symptoms following concussion: a replicated single-case experimental design (SCED) study
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study further confirmed the efficacy for this intensive exposure therapy for PCS, adding further evidence for exposure therapy in this patient population. Replication in other samples is needed.
  • Sensory integration processes characterize concussed athletes with balance deficits
Impaired postural control constitutes a major symptom after mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI/sport-related concussions (SRC)). In order to uphold cognition and behavior during pathological situations, individuals may be characterized by neuronal upregulation. Because postural control necessitates the integration of sensory information within somatosensory (/parietal) cortices, we investigated the hypothesis that athletes with ongoing symptoms after […]
  • Methods of humane killing of laboratory fish: FELASA Working Group recommendations
As commissioned by the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations, these working group recommendations define the requirements to achieve the humane killing of fish, compare methods of killing, recommend methods of killing depending on context, and detail protocols leading to good practice. With a review of current practices in a fish laboratory and available […]
  • Exercise-Induced Symptom Exacerbation and Adverse Events in Moderate-to-Severe Traumatic Brain Injury
CONCLUSIONS: CRF and HLM exertional testing in the early subacute phase of recovery following moderate-to-severe TBI appears to be safe, with low rates of symptom exacerbation and adverse events identified.
