  • Psychometrics of a fear-avoidance measure adapted for youth with persistent postconcussive symptoms: Fear of Concussive Symptoms Questionnaire (FOCSQ) child and parent-proxy versions
CONCLUSIONS: The FOCSQ is a reliable and valid measure of fear-avoidance in youth with concussion, and future research might explore whether this measure could be used to identify youth at risk for prolonged recovery. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved).
  • Differences in narrative discourse ability in traumatic brain injury and a neurotypical comparison group: Influence of age, education, and sex
CONCLUSIONS: TBI disrupts both narrative discourse comprehension and production ability. Findings underscore the need to evaluate both narrative comprehension and production performance following TBI. Age, education, and sex did not influence discourse outcomes.
  • Influence of traumatic brain injury on serum levels of pituitary, thyroid, adrenal and gonadal hormones
This study explores the clinical significance of dynamic changes in pituitary, thyroid, adrenal and gonadal hormones following traumatic brain injury (TBI). The study cohort included 90 patients with mild, moderate, or severe TBI and 30 healthy volunteers as the control group. Serum levels of total triiodothyronine (TT3), thyroxine (TT4), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), […]
  • Neural oscillation mechanisms of repetitive subconcussive impacts: a network study of microstate-specific cross-frequency coupling
CONCLUSIONS: SC exposure induces MCFCNs abnormalities resembling central pain syndromes, even in the absence of overt symptoms. These findings suggest that interactions within MCFCNs may serve as potential early biomarkers for headache vulnerability and chronicity, warranting further exploration in longitudinal studies and targeted neurointerventions.
  • Impact of > 24 h sustained wakefulness and subsequent recovery sleep on time-dependent changes in microRNA factors of individuals with post-acute phase mild traumatic brain injury
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of the present study was to determine whether mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI+) results in latent changes in microRNA expression profiles across an episode of total sleep deprivation (TSD).
