  • Prevalence of Traumatic Brain Injury in Detained Youth: Associations With Aggression, Violent Charges, and Behavioral Infractions
CONCLUSIONS: TBI is common among detained youth and is selectively associated with elevated physical aggression. Routine TBI screening at intake and interventions targeting impulse control and emotion regulation may improve outcomes for this high-risk population.
  • Gliatilin in the Treatment of Cognitive Impairments Not Reaching the Level of Dementia: Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: The main challenge during the analysis was methodological, population, and statistical heterogeneity, which required not only the use of a random effects model but also active search and exclusion of some sources. However, despite several limitations, the internal consistency and absence of contradictions in the analysis results demonstrated the robustness of the evidence obtained. […]
  • Persistent dysmorphology and dysfunction of the brain microvasculature following repeated trauma
Mild traumatic brain injury typically produces no abnormalities on neuroimaging yet elicits symptoms that, in an increasing fraction of survivors, linger for years, particularly with recurring injuries. To elucidate the underlying biological substrates, we leveraged two-photon fluorescence microscopy resonant scanning and our recently developed deep-learning based pipeline to evaluate the cerebrovascular network in the subacute […]
  • Is social media a promising global health center for the concussed? A scoping review of concussion coverage across social media
CONCLUSION: Clinical and educational implications and recommendations for future ways to harness the potential of social media in improving concussion care and treatment are also presented. Increased content on concussion prevention could yield value in addressing modifiable risk factors for concussion as the basis to reduce the rates of this longstanding public health complexity.
