  • Neurotrauma induced retinal basement membrane COL4A1 defects are restored by adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cell concentrated conditioned medium
CONCLUSIONS: These findings collectively identify COL4A1 deficiency as a sensitizing factor for post-traumatic visual dysfunction and demonstrate that ASC-CCM exerts therapeutic effects by preserving retinal vascular structure and modulating inflammatory responses, positioning it as a promising candidate for treating TBI-related ocular neurovascular injury.
  • Hollow CuS nanocubes enhance serum metabolic profiles for rapid diagnosis and severity grading of traumatic brain injury
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains a significant global health burden and demands rapid, objective diagnostics that work outside imaging suites and intensive lab workflows. Here, we developed a copper sulfide (CuS) nanocube-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS) platform to acquire serum metabolic profiles (SMPs) with high sensitivity, low background in the low-m/z region, and excellent […]
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Following Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in Children: A Retrospective Exploratory Study
Introduction This study examines whether attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can develop after traumatic brain injury in children. Overlapping acute symptoms can hinder early identification and diagnosis. We investigated whether demographic or acute clinical features are associated with the development of secondary ADHD (S-ADHD) following mild pediatric traumatic brain injury. Materials and methods We conducted a retrospective […]
  • Ultra-high contrast MRI: a new technique for recognizing secondary changes to the brain in patients with persistent symptoms following traumatic brain injury
CONCLUSION: The whiteout sign was strongly associated with being in the symptomatic group and is a potential biomarker for recognition of secondary changes to the brain in patients with persistent symptoms following TBI.
  • Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in conscious mice: a refined method for repetitive applications without restraint
Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) for painless, non-invasive brain stimulation is a promising approach to enhance recovery after stroke. However, the precise molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the effects of tDCS remain unclear, impeding its use in humans and necessitating research in experimental animals. Unlike humans, who receive tDCS fully awake, experimental models of tDCS […]
