  • Long-term Efficacy of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Motor Cortex for Mild Traumatic Brain Injury-Related Headaches
CONCLUSIONS: In short, ten sessions of rTMS at the left MC can effectively reduce headache symptoms and interferences of concentration and daily activities. The treatment also can improve concentration and relieve some aspects of cognitive impairment associated with MTBI-HA although the treatment may cause a mild degree of transient short-term persistent headache exacerbation without ongoing […]
  • Postmortem diagnosis of fatal venous air embolism due to sigmoid sinus rupture associated with a basilar skull fracture
CONCLUSION: We report a fatal case of VAE caused by air entry through a basilar skull fracture with confirmed rupture of the right sigmoid sinus. This condition may be overlooked without PMCT. Vigilance is essential in severe head trauma cases.
  • Patterns and Trends in Prevalent Central Nervous System Stimulant Use in US Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury
CONCLUSIONS: Prevalent CNS stimulant use among Veterans with TBI is low, despite higher temporal trends, including in high-risk subgroups. Future studies need to examine patterns and trends of incident CNS stimulant use, as well as their safety and effectiveness.

  • Brain-derived exosomes from aged mice accelerate cognitive decline in repeated mild traumatic brain injury by activating neuronal Tnfrsf25
Aging increases vulnerability to cognitive decline after repetitive mild traumatic brain injury (rm-TBI), yet mechanisms linking age-related factors to neurodegeneration remain poorly understood. This study investigated how brain-derived exosomes from aged mice (A-Exo) worsen rm-TBI outcomes. In a murine rm-TBI model, intranasal A-Exo administration significantly exacerbated spatial memory deficits and hippocampal neuronal apoptosis compared to […]
