  • Can a Single Night of Sleep Deprivation Unmask Human Sleep and Neurophysiobehavioral Impairments During the Post-Acute Phase of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury?
The purpose of this study was twofold: (a) to determine whether, and the extent to which, the challenge of a single night of total sleep deprivation (TSD) unmasks lingering brain health-related deficits in individuals who within the past 3 to 12 months had been diagnosed (yet medically cleared) with a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI+), […]

  • Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Adolescents With Persistent Postconcussion Symptoms After Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: An Open Label Safety and Feasibility Study
CONCLUSIONS: High frequency rTMS to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex is safe/feasible for adolescents with PPCS. Results provide data to inform large randomized, sham-controlled trials to explore the efficacy of rTMS to treat pediatric PPCS.
  • Changes in the blink reflex after a sport-related concussion: Test-retest reliability of a blink reflexometer in high school athletes
CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrates the consistent test-retest reliability of the EyeStat device across various blink reflex parameters in a cohort of non-concussed, healthy high school athletes. The findings support the potential utility of the EyeStat device as a reliable baseline measure for assessing the blink reflex in the context of SRC among young athletes. Further […]
  • Neurotrauma induced retinal basement membrane COL4A1 defects are restored by adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cell concentrated conditioned medium
CONCLUSIONS: These findings collectively identify COL4A1 deficiency as a sensitizing factor for post-traumatic visual dysfunction and demonstrate that ASC-CCM exerts therapeutic effects by preserving retinal vascular structure and modulating inflammatory responses, positioning it as a promising candidate for treating TBI-related ocular neurovascular injury.
