  • Examining Clinic-Based Healthcare Utilization Patterns in a Specialty Concussion Care Setting
CONCLUSIONS: Initiation of concussion care within one week of injury demonstrates comparable effectiveness regardless of exact timing, although early presentation favors single-provider management while later presentation requires enhanced interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Evaluating Diagnostic Strategies for Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury: A Literature-Based Clinical Decision Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Application of CDA to pediatric TBI demonstrates the potential value of biomarker integration in improving diagnostic accuracy and optimizing CT utilization. Biomarker-augmented strategies may enhance patient safety by reducing unnecessary radiation exposure, while maintaining sensitivity for clinically important injuries. Prospective validation and real-world implementation studies are needed to confirm clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Isolated oculomotor nerve palsy following mild traumatic brain injury: diagnostic challenges and insights from High-Resolution MRI
CONCLUSIONS: High-resolution CE-MRI proves instrumental in diagnosing isolated ONP in mild TBI patients, even without conventional radiological indicators. Early imaging and intervention may improve recovery outcomes. This study underscores the significance of including CE-MRI in evaluation protocols for ONP. It highlights the importance of further research to unravel the underlying pathophysiology and optimize therapeutic approaches […]
  • Association Between Intraindividual Variability in Cognitive Performance and White Matter Organisation in Chronic Mild Traumatic Brain Injury
Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) can result in persistent cognitive deficits (particularly in attention, processing speed, and working memory), even years after the injury. The majority of behavioural studies have focussed on averaged cognitive performance scores, such as average reaction time or accuracy scores after mTBI. However, less is understood about how mTBI affects intraindividual […]
