  • Curcumin-Rich Curry Consumption Is Associated with Lower Risk of Cognitive Decline and Incidence of Mild Cognitive Impairment or Dementia: An Asian Population-Based Study
CONCLUSIONS: The intake of dietary curcumin through curry shows a dose-dependent reduction in incidence of cognitive decline and MCI-dementia in this Asian population of community-based elders.
  • Sensitivity of Diffusion Tensor Imaging for Assessing Injury Severity in a Rat Model of Isolated Diffuse Axonal Injury: Comparison with Histology and Neurological Assessment
Diffuse axonal brain injury (DAI) is a common, debilitating consequence of traumatic brain injury, yet its detection and severity grading remain challenging in clinical and experimental settings. This study evaluated the sensitivity of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), histology, and neurological severity scoring (NSS) in assessing injury severity in a rat model of isolated DAI. A […]
  • The Effect of Intracellular Calcium Buffer Bapta on Epileptiform Activity of Hippocampal Neurons
The rhythm of epileptiform activity occurs in various brain injuries (ischemia, stroke, concussion, mechanical damage, AD, PD). The epileptiform rhythm is accompanied by periodic Ca^(2+) pulses, which are necessary for the neurotransmitter release, the repair of damaged connections between neurons, and the growth of new projections. The duration and amplitude of these pulses depend on […]
  • Glasgow Coma Scale Score at Admission in Traumatic Brain Injury Patients: A Multicenter Observational Analysis
Introduction: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of morbidity worldwide, with the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) serving as a tool to measure injury severity. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between GCS admission scores and various socio-demographic, clinical, injury-related, and hospital-related variables in patients with TBI across two tertiary care centers in […]
  • Effects of a modular telehealth intervention on comorbid conditions in service members with mild traumatic brain injury
